The NKFM is widely known for providing more programs and services to more people than any other region or state. The mission of the National Kidney Foundation of Michigan is to prevent kidney disease and improve the quality of life for those living with it. Over the last 12 years the "Kidney Ball" has raised over $6 million for the NKFM and this year organizers expect Saturday's event to raise nearly $600,000 for its many community programs and services. The night will also include music from Your Generation in Concert featuring Fifty Amp Fuse. Those in attendance will be able to enjoy cocktails, dinner, a spirited live auction and new this year there will be a wine tasting/auction held during the cocktail reception. It's considered to be "the most fun black tie event in metro Detroit" in a release by the NKFM.
